Sweet Music

I just heard Manny and Marcel giggling in their bedroom. They were supposed to be asleep a while ago, but it sounds like Manny snuck in his kazoo and is now serenading his brother. Marcel was asleep, and I waited almost an hour to put Manny to bed just to make sure Marcel would stay asleep. But as long as no one is screaming, right?

Self Portrait and Sock Fetish

Manny loves to take pictures with the camera. Someday we'll get him his own. I often find 30 plus pictures of random things--feet, couch, garbage can, lamp. And then there are these. Looks like Manny is learning to take self portraits.

Success!

And I keep finding Marcel with socks in his hands-one in each. And then he does this with them.
I think he is like Manny in that he just likes to rub something on his nose, but I can't seem to transition him to something else. I gave him a soft blanket (that I think is actually a burp rag, but it's a cute one with animals on it, so you get the idea of the size, it's not huge, it's something small he can carry), but he keeps finding socks. Maybe someday he'll realize that's disgusting
P.S. I promise they're clean. He goes into the closet, pulls himself up on things, and comes out with socks

Myrtle Beach!

We had the great opportunity to go on a Family Vacation to Myrtle Beach! This was the first vacation we'd been on as a family since we'd had kids.
Pretty sure he was watching Hercules. I remember I said I would never get a DVD player for my kids in the car. I thought it was silly. But someone gave it to us. And now I think it is wonderful. At times.

Marcel enjoying/sleeping the million hours it took to get there. Okay so it said it would only take 3hr 40min, but the directions were ridiculous and trafiic once you got to Myrtle was terrible. Almost 5hrs. Lots of screaming in the car.
 Blast you, Mapquest!

We finally made it! First day at the beach. Now Luis knows how to swim he realizes how fun the beach really is!

Our awesome friends who hooked us up with the Timeshare stay. Thanks, Brad's Mom!

Manny had so much fun

Marcel is really good at eating. Almost everything. Garbage included. You really have to watch that kid.

Our last night we went to a Japanese steakhouse. It was really great. Manny loved the chef and now tries to imitate him cooking.

What a great trip. Great friends and great family.

Happy Birthday Luis!

This birthday gathering was last minute and was around 10pm. Notice the tired faces. But we were so happy we could celebrate Luis' birthday with his favorite tres leches cake. We love him

Michael Wannabe, Peruvian Independence, Sweet Chicken Stinks, and Wishing Well

Here are some pictures of Manny being a ham.

And in this one he is being Michael Jackson. His Woody shirt is no longer a Woody/cowboy shirt. He consistently puts that on when he wants to be and dance like Michael Jackson. Think he would approve? We'll have to work on getting him a shirt a little more similar. And a glove.

Happy Peruvian Independence Day! (On the 28th)

And this last one is where Manny was really excited to try a new recipe. It was supposed to be like his favorite "sweet chicken" (sesame chicken), and it was similar. But making it turned out to be different than Manny thought--he kept plugging his nose becasue he didn't like the smell. It took him a while to convince him to eat the finished product, but in the end he liked it. We will make it again.

And favorite recent Manny quote/story--We were at a wishing well and Manny said dreamily, "I wish I was a coin and someone could throw me in so I could be a wish."   What?? Not quite sure what that meant, but it made me laugh.
